Simply beautiful and beautifully simple, these 12" maple or walnut wood strips with industrial strength magnets and hanging string are the perfect alternative to traditional framing. Order with or without artwork!

Wooden Poster Hangers in a vintage pull-down map style is a creative way to think about framing. A simple and beautiful alternative to framing, these poster hanger frame sets are made with sustainably-sourced wood right here in the United States.

Using 4 thin strips of American hardwood embedded with several industrial strength neodymium rare-earth magnets to grip your art print firmly in between. The top back piece can be threaded with the included 15” string through the pre-drilled holes for easy hanging. The bottom frame weighs down the art print.

For a more permanent display, you can also mount to the wall with included hardware. Should you decide to swap things up, magnets mean these are reusable! To switch out your artwork simply lift the magnetic strip, put new artwork in place and snap the top strip back on – the magnets will automatically align the frame.

Custom Vintage Inspired Travel Poster using YOUR Photo! NEW!

As you might suspect, being both artists, Gavin and I normally make our gifts for one another. So, for our first wedding anniversary this past October, the tradition of paper was a perfect fit for me! I had this in the bag.

I wanted to design something for Gavin that was unlike anything I've yet to create so he knew I really put the time and thought into it. Also, our wedding pictures from Boko Photo are so extremely awesome that I knew I wanted to work with a photo of our wedding.

We got married on Gavin's parents farm property on Sleepy Hollow Rd. so the those 4 red barns all decorated for our October wedding just melts my heart with memories of the single most awesome day of our lives.

It took me a while to choose a photo, and come up with an idea on how to translate it into wall art that I, personally, am going to hang in my home. We don't display much of our own work around the house - there's so much nice work out there to bother looking at our own all day! - but I knew this was a piece we'd have for a long time.

Setting aside all the mushy-gushy anniversary stuff, creating a new design that allows me to offer a new print in the Near & Dear Etsy shop is important as well. Killing two birds with one stone, I used vintage travel posters as my main concept and WAH-LAH!

February Studio Recap

Is it summer yet?

Even though February went by fast, it certainly didn't go by fast enough. The winter here in Northeast Ohio has been brutal. With temps in the -0's and constant snow up to our knees, the best thing to do is stay indoors and make stuff!

February brought us:

• Our first several orders of Personalized Graphic Tees thanks to a wonderful Valentine Sale this year! 
• I also sold/designed/printed/shipped approximately 200+ personalized art prints from the Near & Dear Etsy shop. 
• I worked on several home illustrations this month, one of which has become my new favorite. 
• Designed and released for free download, 'You are my favorite' Valentine and it was shared by many on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest with your own favorite people!
• I added over a years worth of new placement prints and coordinating patterns to my Society6 shop and my Cuckoo Clock design was selected by Society6 to be a part of their official store!
• And, in case you thought I had any free time, my most favorite online art class started back up again - Lilla Rogers Make Art that Sells Bootcamp - bringing on the cuckoo clock obsession!

How I Personalized My Own T-Shirt

The samples I designed are in and they are fabulous!! I created these specifically for myself and my family (meaning you won't find a variation of my wedding invitation for sale in the shop) but the idea is awesome! If you're interested, let me know! Anyway, the point is... Personalized T-shirts are now available and they are awesome! Great printing on a great quality tee.

Our t-shirts are NAFTA Friendly (North American Free Trade agreement) which means they were made from US grown cotton, knitted & dyed in the USA and then cut & sewn in Mexico. Each and every personalized t-shirt ordered will be custom designed by me and printed with a partner in California. My goal is for them to be 100% made is USA within the next year.

Happy 2014 everyone!

I can't believe it's 2014 already! Happy New Year everyone! We're back in the studio with tons of catching up and new year planning to do. With much gratitude, we ended 2013 with a BANG! Here's a bit of what the studio looked like just before our holiday break.

We had a very nice winter break - spent time with family, painted and put new floors in the kitchen, fixed framing issues with the barn, got the wood stove installed and started really and truly unpacking. Not relaxing, but definitely in our pj's a lot!

I have a feeling 2014 is going to be an amazing and busy year. We're welcoming my mom on board (keeping Near & Dear Designs a family business!) for admin and research. I've got feelers out for licensing and corporate commissions as well as some plans to start a second Etsy shop... hmmm... :) And, to add more joy to our life, my husband and I have plans for a new collaborative startup we hope to get going this year!

These romantic and rustic floral patterned Bridal Shower Invitations are available as a 5"x7" high resolution digital file personalized with your shower information. No physical printed product will be sent to you. Once you approve the final design, files are emailed to you in JPEG format.

Printing is also available for all stationery items in my shop.
