Photo Shoot Day : We are so excited about our new look!

A new look is coming to the Near & Dear Designs Etsy shop...and we’re super excited! 

With the photographic prowess of Sarah Bokone of Boko Photo behind the lens, we’ve put together some really cool new displays of our work. Both our classic gifts and a bit of new work will be highlighted.

It’s a lot of work to stage, style, shoot and swap out good product photography, but our photo shoot day was a near-perfect overcast (but DRY!) Ohio October day….ideal for 100% natural light outdoor shooting….and our efforts have definitely paid off!

The guts of our house are wonderful photo props. My husband Gavin and I make habit of collecting objects that catch our eye….no specific type or style is the rule, but we try to surround ourselves in generally interesting, usually vintage, objects of all kinds. It was a morning’s worth of work to run around, collect, and stage things in the small field behind our barn (from record albums and books to vintage office equipment and Pyrex from the kitchen, we’re talking quite a bit of stuff...all of which you couldn’t use in a single photo shoot, but our collection set the mood for styling shots throughout the day.) ...and it was the evening’s work to bring everything back in….it’s still not all put away.

Our classic designs looked great in situ and our new wood panel illustrations and gift wrapping options are fantastic! We will be posting again in the next week with info and photos as those two new options become available on Etsy.
