Studio Move : UPdate#2 : Last week we moved the studio around. After much discussion Gavin and I decided not to follow my plan from (see here) but to utilize the house in a different way.... so we asked ourselves:
As a family what do we spend the most of time doing?
Creating and working on our art businesses.
What do we need to do that comfortably, efficiently and all together as a family?
WAY more room!!
Which is the biggest room in the house?
The living room.
Do we use the living room?
Nope (seems like a silly question but honestly the tv hasn't even been plugged in in months!)....
So where do we relocate the studio?
Here's the new plan:
Base cabinets and hollow core doors are from the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Cleveland. We picked those up from the morning of our Puffy adventure. I painted the cabinets white and added new hardware from Home Depot. Then crafty Gavin cut wood from the garage to level them out. We pulled out a little what we needed to get to work right away and WAH-LA! Genius setup.
Here's my new view :D
When you're in love, face to face desks is quite cool.
It took a few days (and we're still not done) but it's getting there. There's still life to live and a business to run, art to make, dinner to have and a family to spend time with.
I'm quite the lucky girl.
